Description:
One of the best-known independent museums on the South Bank, The Florence Nightingale Museum presents a unique collection showing the life and legacy of the Lady with the Lamp. It features many fascinating objects, including the medical chest she took with her to the Crimea, nursing uniforms and mementoes. Her legacy is depicted in the ‘Hospital Voices’ exhibition which features stories of nurses and patients from her time to the present day. ‘Hospital Voices’ was voted Number One Exhibition in The Times in July 2007 and has just been extended by popular demand until 30 June 2008.
With children’s activities available during the school holidays you may even get to meet Florence herself!
