Description:
Visit the beautifully restored Georgian townhouse, where the great baroque composer G. F. Handel lived and wrote timeless masterpieces including ‘Messiah’.
Throughout the House portraits and paintings tell the story of Handel's musical life in London. The House is alive with music as it was in Handel's day, with weekly Thursday evening recitals as well as regular weekend music events.
Coincidentally, the rock star Jimi Hendrix lived next door to Handel's house in the late 1960s. A small display of Hendrix photographs, taken in his Brook Street flat (now the Museum offices), is on permanent display in the Museum.
