Leeds Castle

Historical Houses, Gardens & Parks Landmarks & Historical Sites

Description:

Over the centuries, Leeds Castle has been a Norman Fortress, a royal residence to six of England's medieval Queens, and a palace to Henry VIII.

There are activities to suit everyone's taste; you can wander around the castle or you can tee off for a round of golf while the kids check out the birds of prey or feed the ducks. There are also formal gardens, a maze and secret underground grotto, an aviary which is home to over 100 species, the Dog Collar museum, greenhouses, a vineyard, shops and restaurants and also a 9 hole public golf course.

Admission with a“Key to the Castle” ticket is available at the gates which offers customers’ unlimited return admission to the castle over one year - cost is £14.00 adult, £8.50 child, £11.00 Senior Railcard holders.

Take the train to Bearsted station and then the connecting bus to the castle. Buses operate Mon – Sat from the station at 10.30, 11.30, 12.30 and returns from the castle at 15.00; Sun departs from the station at 10.25, 11.25, 12.25 and returns from the castle at 15.10.
