Description:
Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum focuses on the archaeology and ancient history of the area inside a magnificent Grade 1 listed building, the home of the award-winning Stonehenge gallery, the Monkton Deverill gold torc and the now-famous Warminster Jewel.
Other displays include Early Man, the Romans and Saxons, the history of Old Sarum and Salisbury, the Pitt Rivers collection, pottery, porcelain and Wedgwood in 17th-century rooms, a pre-NHS surgery, costume, lace and embroidery. There are also plenty of pictures, including Turner watercolours.
