Chiswick House is the first and one of the finest examples of neo-Palladian design in England. Built by the third Earl of Burlington, it was inspired by the architecture of ancient Rome and 16th Century Italy. A visit is not complete with walking around the gardens at Chiswick - the birthplace of the English Landscape Movement and inspiration for countless gardens including New York's Central Park.
Admission: Adult £5.90. Children under 4 and English Heritage Members go free of charge.
