Dragon Hall

Dragon Hall
Dragon Hall is the only medieval merchants' trading hall known to survive in Western Europe. The hall was built for a wealthy cloth merchant in the mid-15th century. A grand staircase leads to the stunning Great Hall, part of which formed the trading hall.

Dragon Hall has recently undergone a £1.8 million programme of restoration and development largely funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. We re-opened in April 2006 and welcome visitors, guided tours and school groups. Displays on three floors tell the fascinating tale of Robert Toppes, the wealthy merchant who built Dragon Hall, and the building's place in the story of Norwich.
