There's an entire menagerie of different 'creature features'
both great and small that you and your family can visit on a day
trip to London. With the zoo, aquarium, museums and parks around
the capital, there's plenty of live and direct animal action to get
'up-close and personal' with.
Roar, screech, growl, squawk, oink, hiss, moo... and that's
just for starters.
Whatever age they are, London's Creature Features will help you
to keep your children entertained and enthralled, and all just a
train ride away, too. With animal attractions ranging from the wild
to the not-so-wild, including apes, birds, bats and big cats as
well as farm animals, dinosaurs, sea creatures or
'creepy-crawlies', there's plenty to please the budding zoologists
in the family.
There are over 750 species of animal at London Zoo and plenty
of opportunities for your kids to interact with many of them,
bringing them closer to the natural world as well as increasing
their awareness of the importance of conservation. City
Farms are ideal places to take younger children to,
especially those brought up in towns or cities where the
opportunities to see farm animals are scarce.
The amazing exhibits on display at the Natural History
Museum are really something to behold, especially the
Dinosaurs. Kids can learn so much while they enjoy gazing in wonder
at such exhibits as the 25 foot tall Tyrannosaurus Rex, or a life
size Blue Whale that fills the entire room! For those more
interested in the exotic 'creatures of the deep' though, there are
enough fine fishy characters and activities to be found at the
London Aquarium to satisfy even the most adventurous of would-be
marine biologists.
There's such a lot to see and do at many of these places, it's
best to plan your day to make sure that you fit in as much as
possible, and really make the most of all that's on offer. Don't
forget that we have great 2FOR1 deals at many
London attractions, including London Aquarium, London Wetland
Centre, the Natural History Museum and London Zoo.
