Come and venture 300 feet under West Wycombe Hill into a series
of hand carved tunnels, excavated by local labourers using only
rudimentary hand tools and by candlelight alone, in the 1750's.
Experience first hand the path taken by members of the aristocracy
to the once secret meeting place of the notorious Hell Fire
Wend your way through the narrow tunnels hewn from the chalk
hillside until you descend into the magnificent banqueting
hall. Carry on from the banqueting hall across the River Styx
to reach the centre of the hill and the Inner Temple.
After your adventures in the Caves, visit our delightful café
with its award winning murals of West Wycombe, then venture up to
the top of West Wycombe Hill to the Mausoleum and the Church of St
Lawrence, atop which lies the Golden Ball.
During Buckinghamshire school holidays ,and especially at
Halloween, we invite all budding young witches and warlocks to join
in the fun at the Hell-Fire Caves- check our website for further
