Zoos, Farms & Wildlife
Rainham Marshes is an ancient marshland on the banks of the River Thames. Escape the city, get close to wildlife, and escape to RSPB Rainham Marshes which is a unique wetland nature reserve restored to its previous splendour following 100 years of use as a MoD shooting range. The marshland has an array of wildlife including birds, mammals, insects and reptiles as well as grazing cows! The reserve is a fantastic day out for all the family displaying a window into how the marsh was 200 years ago. Not only is there a network of trails, boardwalks and viewpoints around the reserve, regular and special activities for all ages and an award winning visitor centre, café, gift shop, picnic areas and an adventure play area.
