Old Sarum
Discover the original site of Salisbury and take the family to
Old Sarum, just 2 miles north of where the city stands now. This
mighty Iron Age hill fort commands dramatic views across the
Wiltshire countryside to where the 'new' medieval cathedral is.
Families, heritage lovers and walkers can explore 5000 years of
history through graphic interpretation panels - Romans, Normans and
Saxons have all left their mark.
Old Sarum can be easily reached via Wiltshire and Dorset Buses 5/6
from Salisbury Bus Station and city centre or, if you'd like to
combine Old Sarum with a trip to Stonehenge, hop on The Stonehendge
Tour bus from Salisbury Train Station.
