Tonbridge Castle
Reputedly England’s finest example of a Motte and Bailey castle with a splendid 13th Century Gatehouse. Tonbridge Castle is set in landscaped gardens overlooking the River Medway. See how the Castle was defended, join the guards for supper, visit the armourer’s stores and imagine what is was like to be a Lord or Lady at Tonbridge Castle 700 years ago. Experience interactive displays and life-size figures which give a vivid recreation of the sights, sounds and excitement of 13th century castle life.
Opening Times: Mon - Sat: 9.00-16.00. Sun & Bank Holidays: 10.30-16.00. Last tour 1 hour before closing. Open all year except Christmas and New Year's Day. (It is advisable to check the Castle website before you visit.)
