Greenwich Park is one of the eight Royal Parks and is the oldest enclosed Royal Park, dating back to 1427. Greenwich Park is beside the Thames, and hosts the Prime Meridian Line and Greenwich Royal Observatory, as well as the National Maritime Museum. The park includes the Queen's Orchard, where fruit and vegetables are grown, and includes heritage fruit trees, new pathways and ponds. The mound just past the junction of Bower Avenue and Great Cross Avenue is the location of Roman remains, discovered accidentally in 1902.
