Richmond Park is the largest of the capital's eight Royal Parks and the biggest enclosed space in London.
The park is a National Nature Reserve, London's largest Site of Special Scientific Interest and a European Special Area of Conservation. Richmond Park is home to Pembroke Lodge, a listed Georgian Mansion set in 13 acres of landscaped grounds with spectacular views over the Thames Valley to the west.
Visit the Isabella Plantation, an ornamental woodland garden, full of exotic plants and accessible throughout the year. 630 Red and Fallow deer roam freely in Richmond Park and deer have been present in the park since 1529.
The deer are wild animals, and visitors are warned to not touch, feed or photograph the deer at close range. Keep at least 50 metres away from the deer and be aware of your surroundings so that you do not come between two rutting stags or a mother and her calf.
