Published 09/01/2017 by Pinar
In London we are blessed with so many things. Good weather is not one of them. More often than not grotty conditions can spoil our plans. So here are some indoor ideas for a satisfying day out, despite the downpours.
Get thee to a gallery
The capital is chock-full of amazing art galleries. Tate Britain, Tate Modern, the National Gallery, the Royal Academy and The Courtauld Gallery are just a few of the city’s major galleries and entry to them is free. But they all have special exhibitions throughout the year that require tickets. See our 2FOR1 deals on art exhibitions.
Visit a palace
We may not do weather, but we do good palace. Let the splendour and decadence of a royal residence perk you up on a dull day. We’ve got 2FOR1 offers on tickets for William and Kate’s official home Kensington Palace, the art deco elegance of Eltham Palace or the grandeur of Henry VIII’s Hampton Court.
Pop into an historic house
Who doesn’t love a nosey around someone else’s house? Get better acquainted with Dr Samuel Johnson, author of the world’s first dictionary, or US founding father Benjamin Franklin by taking a tour of their London homes. We’ve also got 2FOR1 offers on Apsley House, the home of the Duke of Wellington after his victory over Napoleon.
Go to an oddball attraction
