Celebrate Summer with sizzling 2FOR1's that are guaranteed to be a hit with the kids!
It may seem like an eternity, having to entertain the kids for the next six weeks but don’t worry - we’ve got your back. From bees at The Hive to a bit of Harry Potter magic, check out our ideas below for some fabulous family day trips to get you outdoors without busting your wallet. Browse below for some inspiration then book your train tickets, download your vouchers and off you go!
Tower Bridge Exhibition
Most of the time we tell our children to keep away from traffic. But at this attraction playing around traffic is positively encouraged - sort of. One of the highlights of the Tower Bridge Exhibition is walking over the glass walkway 42 metres above the Thames enabling you to look down and see the bridge’s traffic zoom by under your feet.
Cruise along the Thames
To get great views of Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Big Ben and many of London’s most famous landmarks, try a boat ride along the Thames. We’ve got 2FOR1 offers on a range of river cruises. Just download the voucher and turn up on the day.
Harry Potter London Bus Tour
Exam time may be over but if your wizards want to test their Harry Potter knowledge where better than on a Harry Potter bus tour of London? The three-hour tour visits sites used in the film and gives a chance to have your picture taken at Platform 9¾ and visit the Harry Potter shop at Kings Cross station. Just make sure you know your Aragog from your Azkaban. Check the website for tour times
ZSL London Zoo
Get up close (but not too close!) to some beautiful Asiatic lions at London Zoo’s big-gest and newest attraction Land of the Lions. The immersive exhibit includes an interactive Indian adventure where your young adventurers can help ZSL’s forest rangers deal with a ‘lion-emergency’.
The big attraction at Kew this summer is The Hive, a stunning 17metre tall structure that tells the story of the honeybee and the importance of pollination in feeding the planet. Plus there are lots of interactive children’s exhibits and a playground in the woods to keep them busy while you coo over the Rhododendrons.
LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort
The thought of tackling Legoland® in the summer holidays may have you bricking it, but if you’re organised and prepared, this is a memorable day out. With attractions aimed at children from aged 3 to 15 there really is something for everyone. With roller coasters, a Star Wars area, a water park, play areas and even panning for gold, you’ll just have to negotiate with your troops who does what first. Plus travelling by train means you’ll get 2FOR1 entry, so no worrying about parking!
Hampton Court Palace
Henry VIII’s abode is now home to The Magic Garden, a new interactive play garden for families. There are dragons to climb, a moat to cross, a grotto to discover and lots climbing frames. Or if you can’t get your kids to put down their phones, don’t fight it. Before your visit, download the free Time Explorers app in which your children will meet historical characters in a tricky situation and they’ll have to explore the palace to find the answers they need.
