Frequently asked Questions Explained:

  1. What kinds of train tickets are valid for this promotion?

To avoid any confusion, the best indication of a valid ticket is the inclusion of the National Rail symbol (double arrow).

    • Travelcard  - If you buy your Travelcard from a National Rail station - such as London Victoria, St Pancras and Paddington - they will issue you with a paper ticket, which you can show and use at the attractions with the 2FOR1 offers, this will also allow you to travel between attractions, using the Underground. We're afraid Oyster Travelcards and tickets bought from a London Underground station are not accepted. Travelcards must look like the image below (printed on orange and cream card) to be used to obtain 2FOR1 offers.

       Travelcard_faq_s

    • Single tickets - These are valid only on the day of validity. A days Travelcard must be purchased from a train station and feature the National Rail Logo.
    • Return Train Tickets - You will be able to use your return train tickets with the vouchers at any time between the outward and return journey - if you came on Thursday and returned on Sunday, you could use the vouchers on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. In order to do this please ensure that you retain the outward portion of your ticket as you will need to show both tickets at the attraction - just ask the staff at the ticket barrier to let you through which they will be happy to do.
  2. Can I use an Oyster card?
No, the 2FOR1 London attractions partners DO NOT recognise Oyster Cards as being valid accompanying rail tickets, unless it is an Oyster Annual Season ticket with its accompanying Gold Card record card.
  3. Can I use an Freedom Passes?
No, Freedom Passes cannot be used in conjunction with the 2FOR1 promotions when you travel by train.
  4. Can I use London Underground/tube tickets, DLR and/or London Bus only tickets?
No, however if your travel ticket has an element of National Rail/train company travel included, e.g. any type of 'paper' Travelcard, train/tube inclusive ticket and is issued by a National Rail operated ticket office, then the answer is yes. If you need help distinguishing, please check it using our ticket types page.
  5. Can I use an E-Day ticket issued by Chiltern Railways?
Yes, special conditions apply. Please present your phone message and supporting printed ticket with your completed voucher. You will also be asked to produce photo ID.
  6. Can I use the 2FOR1 vouchers if I have bought my train tickets in conjunction with a Railcard?
Yes, the offer can be used in conjunction with tickets discounted by ALL Railcards including 16-25, Senior, Family & Friends, HM Forces, Disabled Persons, Network, New Deal Photocard and Annual Gold Card.
  7. Can I use a BritRail pass?
No, BritRail passes are not valid with the 2FOR1 offers.
  8. Validity of Return Airport Rail Transfers
The validity of these tickets is from the day of arrival until the day of return.
  9. 2FOR1 Leaflets
You can pick up a 2for1 leaflet at a rail station - these include blank vouchers, you can write the details of your visit on the voucher and show them at the attraction with your train tickets.
  10. Travelling with Children
In order to use the 2FOR1 vouchers, both you and the child travelling with you would need to have a valid National Rail ticket. You may wish to consider buying a child's train ticket for a short journey (one stop for example) which would allow them to use the vouchers - often this works out cheaper than buying an adult and child's ticket.
  11. Voucher Updates
We update our vouchers twice a year, the next set of vouchers will run from 31 October 2014 - 30 April 2015 and they will be available on our website from the middle of October. Most of the attractions will continue, however there can sometimes be a few small changes.
  12. How many train tickets are required per voucher?
Whilst you will only need one attractions voucher between 2 people, both people need to hold valid train tickets for the day of their visit.
  13. Can I participate in the promotion if I'm visiting London from outside the UK?
Yes. But please remember the offers are only available to anyone who buys a valid National Rail train ticket to either travel to London, or within London e.g. Travelcards issued by a National Rail operated ticket office.
  14. What do I do if my county or country is not listed?
Please select 'other' and insert the name of your county, or if you are not in the UK enter your country name.
  15. Where can I get the latest promotional leaflet from?
