Visit the site of William Shakespeare’s grand family home where the playwright is believed to have written some of his most famous works. Although the house is gone, demolished in 1759, you can walk in Shakespeare's footsteps through a new entrance on the site of the original gatehouse and see the footprint of Shakespeare’s lost family home, discovered during archaeological excavations of the site.
Talk to knowledgeable guides about the lost building and wander through beautiful gardens, including the beautiful restored Knot Garden, filled with specially commissioned artworks inspired by his work.
An exhibition in the house next door includes artefacts that reveal more about Shakespeare the businessman, family man and playwright and also celebrate the Women who made Shakespeare.
